What's new to 2022

The Volvo S60 doesn't make any drastic changes for the 2022 model year. In fact, the only major change that comes to the Volvo S60 is the introduction of the mild-hybrid B5 engine. Otherwise, the new Volvo S60 removes two engines (T5, T6). The 2022 Volvo S60 retains is suave good looks and uncompromising luxury.

Performance

The latest model year of the Volvo S60 refines its engine selection by nixing two engines and reducing options to just two engines, if you include the Recharge hybrid engine. If you're looking to just stick with the standard Volvo S60, you can look forward to a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 mild-hybrid B5 engine that makes 247 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can enjoy options in the drivetrain realm, with the Volvo S60 offering up front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The B5 engine works with an 8-speed automatic transmission regardless of the trim selected. If you're thinking of opting for the Volvo S60 Recharge, then you can expect a different powertrain. The S60 Recharge is powered by a futuristic 2.0-liter turbocharged/supercharged inline-4 plug-in hybrid engine that manages 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes standard with all-wheel drive along with an 8-speed automatic transmission. If you're interested in the most powerful version of the Volvo S60, then the Polestar Engineered version is a must consider. The Polestar Engineered version of the 2022 Volvo S60 comes standard with the 400-horsepower engine along with Brembo front brakes, special suspension dampers, and summer performance tires.

Technology

The Volvo S60 ensures plenty of connectedness thanks to a host of tech offerings. As you'd expect with Volvo vehicles, the S60 come standard with an impressive set of entertainment and navigation features. The Momentum trim comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 10-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and a host of USB ports. If you're looking to increased tech features with the Momentum trim, then you might want to consider opting for one of the optional packages. The Premium package adds a navigation system and wireless smartphone charging while the Advanced Package adds a head-up display and a 360-degree camera system. The Climate Package replaces the standard audio system with a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. The R-Design trim level makes many tech features standard that are available via packages with the Momentum trim. The R-Design trim comes standard with wireless charging, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a navigation system. The R-Design makes additional features available as separate upgrades, including a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system. The Inscription trim level includes the same tech offerings as the R-Design. The Polestar Engineered version of the S60 makes the 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system standard.

Interior Features

Interior features that are available with the new S60 include a mix of classic and modern offerings. The Momentum trim of the Volvo S60 comes well-equipped, offering drivers dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats (all-wheel drive versions), simulated leather seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The Climate Packages allows for additional features to be added to the Momentum trim, like heated front/rear seats and a heated steering wheel. The Premium Package allow for power-folding rear seat headrests to be added while the Advanced Package adds ambient interior lighting and an upgraded filtration system. The R-Design trim emphasizes sportiness. Drivers can expect a sport steering wheel with the R-Design trim along with ambient interior lighting, quad-zone automatic climate control, heated front sport seats, and front seats with cloth bolstering. The R-Design allows for the Advanced and/or Climate package to be added. The Inscription trim might be the most luxurious of the lot, adding in leather upholstery, ambient interior lighting, quad-zone automatic climate control, and premium package features. The Polestar Engineered trim offers up some unique features, like gold seat belts and sporty interior accents.
